One2One Mentor/Protégé Spotlight: Krystal Robinson and Roxana Aguilar

Mentor: Krystal Robinson, CPSM, Marketing Coordinator at Manhattan Construction Company

What do you hope to learn from each other?  Our conversations will be a fresh perspective for me on a smaller firms Marketing process and also a geotechnical avenue of work.

How did you (or plan to) structure your mentorship? Do you meet at the same time every week? Do you have an agenda for each meeting?  We have preferences for Friday, but any day during the week would work. Yes, I do believe we should have an agenda for each meeting to make sure we stay on course. At the end of the year, I would like Roxana to have ample opportunity to get any topic covered.

What do you like best about working in the A/E/C industry?  In a world where digital is more or less a major part of our lives, I appreciated that the projects we work on are tangible. We work on some great projects with creative people that we love showing off!

Protégé: Roxana Aguilar, Geotechnical Project Coordinator at Geoscience Engineering & Testing, Inc.

Why did you apply to the mentorship program?  I applied for the program because I am new to the marketing industry and have a lot to learn. I’ve noticed that the marketing industry just keeps growing and having this opportunity to learn from a mentor will be a great resource and will help me enhance my professional growth.

What do you hope to learn from each other?  It gives both of us the opportunity to see how others look at things differently in the same environment. I am looking forward to get the insight of the marketing world and gain all the knowledge Krystal has to offer.

How did you (or plan to) structure your mentorship? Do you meet at the same time every week? Do you have an agenda for each meeting?  We plan on meeting monthly and keeping in touch throughout our meetings.

What do you like best about working in the A/E/C industry?  It’s a new world to me and seeing everyone’s point of view and how it comes together is such a great way to gain knowledge and grow your career.
