Board Member Spotlight: Jill Hope, CPSM

Jill Hope, CPSM, Healthcare Marketing Manager at EYP

Current SMPS Houston President | SMPS Member since 1998

Why did you want to be on the board?  Having been a member of the Houston Chapter almost 20 years, I have served in many capacities on the Board at various times. I am always rewarded by these experiences. It is a natural course to engage at a higher level, leverage one’s membership, share ideas and be a resource for fellow members. I hope my passion, commitment to and gratitude for our chapter has been and will be evident in all of my participation.

What do you hope to accomplish as director/chair?  I am looking forward to collaborating with a stellar Board to generate great value in networking, programming and education for our membership.

What advice would you give to someone interested in becoming a board member?  Being a member of the Board is a way to be connected, influential and give back. If a member has been involved on a committee(s) for a while and looking to take that next step, they should absolutely strive to be on the Board. I always encourage others to find ways to leverage their SMPS membership to gain exposure to things they may not get to experience in their day jobs. This can help develop a well-rounded set of skills to help grow their career.

Why do you love SMPS?  SMPS has played a significant part in the progression of my career. I love SMPS for the extensive network of like-minded professionals and friends it has provided. SMPS Houston has afforded me opportunities to learn, contribute, lead, serve and ignite my passion for marketing in the AEC industry.
