The Society for Marketing Professional Services (SMPS) is a group of marketing and business development professionals in the “built environment” — and the only organization dedicated to creating business opportunities in the A/E/C industry.
SMPS was created in 1973 by a small group of professional services firm leaders who recognized the need to sharpen skills, pool resources, and work together to build their businesses.
Now our members work for architectural, engineering, planning, interior design, construction, and specialty consulting firms located throughout the United States and Canada — creating a powerful network from which to form teams, secure business referrals and intelligence, and benchmark performance. SMPS offers members professional development, leadership opportunities, and marketing resources to advance their careers.
SMPS’ mission is to advocate for, educate, and connect leaders in the building industry. Our vision is for premier professional service firms to recognize SMPS as their most trusted resource for building business and achieving success.
Just like our city, SMPS Houston is a diverse, rapidly-growing chapter. Since our inception in 1981, we have grown to become one of the top 10 chapters in the country, with more than 200 members representing more than 170 firms in the A/E/C industry.
Houston is often described as a large city with a small-town feel, so while we are committed to executing the mission of SMPS National, we do it with a uniquely Houston attitude. We strive to be the leading resource for those working in the built environment with an emphasis on creating strong, personal relationships.
